Background
Affco & Phasco Electric Company relied heavily on manual processes to manage production, purchasing, payroll, and inventory. These paper-based methods were time-consuming, error-prone, and lacked the ability to provide timely insights for decision-making. To modernize operations, the company required fully developed systems that could centralize data, automate workflows, and provide accurate reporting.
Challenge
The absence of integrated systems created inefficiencies across departments. Production and purchasing data were tracked manually, payroll calculations were prone to errors, and inventory records were difficult to reconcile. Management lacked real-time visibility into operations, and reporting required significant manual effort. The challenge was to design and implement three core applications from scratch, while also establishing a secure and reliable database environment to support daily operations.
Solution
We developed and deployed three custom applications tailored to Affco’s needs:
- Production and Purchase Management System – Automated the tracking of production schedules, purchase orders, and supplier records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Payroll System – Streamlined employee payroll processing, reducing errors and providing timely salary reports.
- Inventory System – Centralized stock management, enabling real-time tracking of materials and finished goods.
Each system was supported by a robust backend database designed with logical modeling, normalization, and indexing to ensure performance and scalability. Custom forms and reports were created to provide user-friendly interfaces and actionable insights.
As part of the engagement, we also provided full DBA services: installing and configuring database environments, creating and managing schemas, monitoring performance, implementing security roles and privileges, and establishing backup and recovery procedures. Comprehensive testing—including unit, integration, and end-to-end validation—ensured reliability before deployment.
